Property investment has long been recognized as one of the most profitable forms of investment, especially with land becoming scarcer and the demand for housing continuously rising. However, compared to other investments like gold which carry higher risks, property investment is relatively safer. Nonetheless, it’s important to consider various factors before deciding where to invest.

Location is one of the key factors to consider. In Indonesia, Bali and the DKI Jakarta region remain favorites with the highest property selling and buying prices. But between these two locations, which one is more advantageous?

  1. Property Prices: Bali and Jakarta offer a variety of property price segments depending on location, land area, building area, and house specifications. Both have their own advantages and disadvantages in this regard.

  1. Public Transportation: Jakarta, as the economic center of Indonesia, has crucial public transportation infrastructure for the mobility of workers. Meanwhile, Bali, with its attractive tourist destinations, also offers fairly good public transportation services, though not as comprehensive as Jakarta.

  1. Entertainment Spots: Bali is famous for its enchanting beaches and various tourist spots like Garuda Wisnu Kencana Statue, Tanjung Benoa, and Pura Ulun Danu Bedugul. On the other hand, Jakarta offers interesting places like Ragunan Zoo, diverse malls, and Taman Mini Indonesia Indah.

  1. Road Accessibility: Both have good road access, but with different scenery. Jakarta presents the typical cityscape with tall buildings, while Bali offers beach and lush green scenery.

  1. Public Facilities: Both Bali and Jakarta have good public facility infrastructure, including hospitals, schools, universities, and places of worship.

  1. Economic Prospects: Bali has the advantage of being a priority tourist destination in Indonesia, while Jakarta, despite losing its capital status, remains a crucial economic hub.

So, when choosing where to invest, consider your investment goals. If you want to invest for renting out or holiday purposes, Bali might be a better choice due to its broader market. However, if you’re looking for an investment that can also serve as a residence close to complete facilities and needs, DKI Jakarta might be more suitable.
